This piece is Santulan's Indian interpretation of The Kiss—a celebration of love, not as possession, but as balance.

At its heart are two figures locked in a moment of quiet intimacy. What unfolds is more than a kiss; it is the meeting of two energies, two souls, two worlds finding harmony within one another. Inspired by Indian aesthetics and storytelling, the artwork transforms Klimt's vision into a scene that feels deeply rooted in culture, devotion, and human connection.

Drawing inspiration from Pichwai art, the design is layered with a sense of stillness and timeless beauty. The female form carries softness and grace, her flowing veil adorned with peacock feathers—symbols of beauty, longing, and love. The aalta on her hands and the payal on her feet bring intimacy and cultural detail to the artwork. Opposite her stands the male form, structured and grounding, creating a sense of strength that complements her elegance. Together, they create a moment that feels complete.

Much like Klimt's original masterpiece, the two figures appear to dissolve into one another, yet their individuality remains visible. They are neither entirely separate nor entirely merged. The design reflects a simple but profound truth: true love is not the loss of individuality, but the balance between individuality and togetherness.

Subtle golden zardozi and beadwork on the payal and hand ornaments pay homage to the golden brilliance of the original painting, adding depth and craftsmanship to the piece.
